Quality Used Tires in Toronto
Sometimes the car is worth less than a new set of tires, and that’s a legitimate situation, not a moral failing. What isn’t legitimate is selling someone a tire with a plug in the shoulder and calling it a bargain.
From $60 fitted В· 6/32″ minimum tread
Every Tire Gets Checked
- Tread measured at three points — 6/32″ minimum, no exceptions
- DOT date code read; nothing over six years old goes on a car
- Dismounted and inspected inside for liner damage and old repairs
- Pressure-tested overnight to catch slow leaks
- Balanced before it goes on your wheel
- Tread depth written on your invoice
What We Turn Away
- Any repair in the sidewall or shoulder
- Overlapping repairs, or more than two in one tire
- Dry rot, cracking between the tread blocks
- Uneven wear that suggests it was run flat or badly aligned
- Anything we can’t identify the age of
We refuse roughly a third of what gets offered to us. That’s the whole difference between a used tire and a cheap tire.

When a Used Tire Is the Right Call — and When It Isn’t
Good call
One tire destroyed by a curb or a pothole, three good ones left. Selling you four new tires to match one failure is a waste of your money, and we’ll say so.
Bad call
All four bald on a car you’re keeping another three years, or winter tires for a highway commute. There, used is false economy and we’ll point you at new.
Questions
Are used tires safe?
One with good tread, no repairs in the wrong place, no sidewall damage and a recent date code — yes. One with a plug in the shoulder and seven years on the clock — no. The difference is inspection.
What’s your minimum tread?
6/32″. Ontario considers a passenger tire worn out below 2/32″, so 6/32″ leaves real life, not a few months. How to check yours: the quarter test.
Can I buy just one?
Yes — it’s the usual reason people come in. We match tread depth to the tire on the other side of the same axle so the car doesn’t pull.
